In mid-Eighties, it was bought by \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eTakara Shuzo\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e and in 1987, it was known as the \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003elargest\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e malt distillery in Scotland. They mostly make blended Whiskies (such as Talisman and Antiquary) and in 2014, they updated the previous 12YO expression and created this beauty.\u003cbr\u003e\r\n\u003cbr\u003e\r\nNow, it's bottled at 43% ABV instead of 40%. The Spirit spent over a decade in\u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e ex-Bourbon barrels\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e, before it received a lovely \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eOloroso Sherry \u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003efinish. Its smoothness, subtlety and creaminess brought this Scotch a bunch of awards, including the \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eDouble Gold\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e at 2019 San Francisco WSC and 91.5 points from Jim Murray.
